Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has the largest mangrove area in the world. In 2023, Indonesia will record 23 percent of the world's mangrove forests. Indonesia also contributes to efforts to maintain the world's green areas. In an effort to answer the challenges of climate change, Indonesia has challenges in maintaining and rehabilitating mangrove forest ecosystem areas. This research will explain Indonesia's efforts to implement mangrove diplomacy in 2019-2023 through multi-track diplomacy. In this research, Indonesia involves several multi-track actors in its diplomatic activities, this is due to the limitations of government actors in pursuing environmental rehabilitation. Through tracks 1 (Government), 3 (Business Sector), 4 (Civil Society), 8 (Philanthropy), and 9 (Communication Media) mangrove diplomacy can be implemented. Through the implementation of mangrove diplomacy, it is hoped that Indonesia can strengthen its positive image in responding to the issue of global warming in international forums.
