Abstract

The manufacture of liquid organic fertilizers, especially from organic market vegetable waste with the addition of EM4 (Effective Microorganisms) bio activators, aims to determine the effect of manufacturing time on the N and C content in liquid organic fertilizers and determine the effect of EM4 bio activators on N and C content in liquid organic fertilizers. The method of making liquid organic fertilizer is to market vegetable organic waste such as cabbage, mustard greens, spinach, separated from other organic waste. Then the EM4 bioactivator was prepared in a bucket. Market vegetable waste is chopped and put into a floating fermenter. Bioactivator EM4 is then evenly put into a floating fermenter with water according to predetermined variables. Sampling was done based on the variation of time 4 days, 8 days, 12 days, 16 days ,and 20 days and the variation of bio activators used were EM4: Water, 6: 0; 5: 1; 3: 3; 4: 2; 2: 4 with a stirring period 4 times a day. The parameters tested were nitrogen (N), carbon (C) ,and the ratio C / N. The results showed that the process of making liquid organic fertilizer with time variations and variations in the addition of EM4 volume was effective in increasing levels of N and C. Where the largest N content value was on day 12 with a sample of 4: 2 of 0.09%. While the highest C content on day 8 with a sample of 6: 0 of 1.15%. And for the C / N ratio, the best results were obtained on the 16th day with a 4: 2 sample of 10. Key words: Effective Microrganisms; Floating Fermentor; Liquid Organic Fertilizer
