Abstract
PT XYZ is a company that operates in the plywood processing industry with various variations. The company experienced problems in managing plywood raw materials, namely sengon wood, including uncertainty in ordering caused by probabilistic demand with irregular periods. This often results in overstock or even stockouts. This research aims to control and minimize the total cost of sengon wood inventory at PT. XYZ. The total cost of sengon wood inventory for May 2023 to April 2024 using the company method is IDR 32.502.564.700 while the continuous review (Q) back order method is IDR 28.829.527.844 with a cost savings of IDR 3.673.036.856 or a cost savings percentage of 11,3% of the company's total inventory costs so that the continuous review (Q) back order method is the minimum cost. The need for sengon wood from May 2024 to April 2025 is 964 m3 per order and the reorder point is 143 m3 , with a total inventory generated using the continuous review (Q) back order method of IDR 35.577.350.265.
