Abstract
This research discusses framing analysis related to the phenomenon of democratic decline at the end of Jokowi's administration. Starting from this phenomenon, the media ended up highlighting this event a lot by packaging it in the form of news. Kompas.id and CNN Indonesia are the media that also present this news, starting from October 2023. This research uses a constructivist paradigm using the Gamson and Modigliani model of framing analysis with two framing devices, namely the Frame device (Metaphors, Catchphrase, Examples, Depiction, Visual Image.) and Reasoning devices (Roots, appeals to principle, Conseqence) are complete with analysis elements. This research shows that there are differences between Kompas.Id and CNN Indonesia in framing the news of the decline of democracy at the end of Jokowi's administration. On the online media Kompas.Id presents news by highlighting sources who are against Jokowi's government, but there is also a slight tendency towards the government conveying a picture from Jokowi's perspective, so it gives the impression that Kompas.Id is in the middle of a problem. Meanwhile, CNN Indonesia, which is a partner of Chairul Tanjung's Trans Media, has no influence from ownership, because the content of the news that researchers have collected is in accordance with the keywords used, does not indicate that CNN Indonesia is Pro to the government, this can be related to the vision and mission or ideology that runs in the media Keywords: Framing Analysis, The Decline of Democracy, Gamson and Modigliani
