Abstract
Along with the development of the cinema industry, it is known that nowadays movies are made not just for entertainment. Sometimes a movie is deliberately made with a specific purpose or even to be used as a propaganda tool. The movie Ice Cold: Murder, Coffee, and Jessica Wongso is one of the movies that has a persuasive communication phenomenon in it. The movie is tucked with certain goals and objectives that want to be conveyed to the audience and indirectly persuade the audience by changing their beliefs, attitudes, and direction of action. The movie Ice Cold: Murder, Coffee, and Jessica Wongso is a documentary that raises the cyanide coffee case that has been closed with a guilty verdict to Jessica Wongso. After 8 years have passed, the messages contained in this movie are able to shake or even change people's beliefs about the final verdict of the case. By using John Fiske's semiotic analysis method, this research aims to understand the representation of white collar crime practices which is the main message in this film. After going through the analysis, this research obtained results, namely in 12 scenes of this film there are several film elements both narrative and cinematic that represent the practice of white collar crime and with the conclusion that in the 12 scenes there are several scenes of deviant actions by the Police, Judges, Public Prosecutors, and Prison Officers.
