Abstract
Sidoarjo is a regency with the highest population density in East Java. This is due to the high availability of jobs, especially in the industrial sector. This high population density can affect the availability of housing in Sidoarjo Regency due to the imbalance between the supply of housing and the demand from the community. Apartments are a type of residential building that can be applied to address the shortage of housing supply in Sidoarjo Regency. However, the numerous industrial sectors in Sidoarjo Regency contribute to increasing pollution levels. Sidoarjo itself is the regency with the highest environmental pollution levels in East Java. As a result, apartment buildings must consider the environmental conditions in Sidoarjo Regency so that the buildings can adapt to their surroundings. The method used in designing these apartments is the pragmatic method. By using a green architecture approach, apartments can be designed with attention to environmental conditions so that the buildings can adapt to their surroundings. The results of this research are expected to provide solutions to the problem of housing supply shortages in Sidoarjo Regency, as well as the design of apartments that can adapt to their environment, especially in areas with high pollution levels.
