Abstract
ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze Canada's efforts to promote gender equality in Afghanistan through a feminist international aid policy 2020-2023. This research uses feminist foreign policy theory to explain the importance of overcoming structural barriers to gender equality, changing power dynamics, and focusing on political solutions. In addition, this research also uses the concept of gender equality and empowerment. The author also uses the concept of the 3Rs (Rights, Resources, and Representation) in Canadian international aid policy to ensure women's rights, sufficient resources to implement policies, and greater political participation of women. Qualitative data analysis techniques are used in this research with secondary data collection methods as well as document utilization. Based on the results of the study, Canada's efforts in women's equality in Afghanistan through the feminist international assistance policy, namely encouraging gender equality and empowering women through various existing programs and policies and the findings can have an impact on reducing the level of women's equality in Afghanistan. Feminist International Assistance Policy (FIAP) contributes to the 3R principles (Women's Rights, Women's Representation, and Women's Resources) including; (1) Gender equality and women's empowerment; (2) Promoting human dignity; (3) Encouraging women's participation in decision making.
