Abstract
Indonesia has two seasons, the rainy season and the dry season. There are three types of natural disasters: geological, meteorological, and extra-terrestrial. For example, cyclones, tropical storms, droughts, floods and so on. It demands that governments and the public should be aware of the potential disaster around them. The research was carried out because of the fact that the researchers found that the village under investigation suffered the worst flood disaster in Jombang District every year. This research was conducted to identify the roles played by the six parties in the hexahelix theory put forward by Abdul Rachim, namely Government, Academics, Business, Media, Public Community, and Regulation & Law. The research method used in this research uses qualitative methods with descriptive purposes with data collection techniques using interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of this study show that the flood disaster mitigation efforts carried out in Kademangan Village by each of the components of the hexahelix theory have not all played a role. This is because of the six components of the hexahelix theory, only three have worked well, namely the government, the academics, and the community. Two components can be said to play a minimal role at maximum, namely the role of the media and regulation & law. While the business role hasn't played. Keywords: Flood Disaster, Disaster Mitigation, Community, Government, Potential Disaster
