Abstract

The growth and production of leeks is greatly influenced by the presence of plant pest organisms (OPT), one of which is purple spot disease caused by the fungus Alternaria porri. Control efforts by using a vegetable fungicide, namely citronella essential oil. The aim of this research is to determine the concentration of citronella essential oil as a vegetable fungicide that is effective in suppressing the growth of the Alternaria porri fungus in vitro and in vivo. This research was carried out from November 2023 - March 2024. The location of this research was carried out at the Plant Health Laboratory and Greenhouse, Faculty of Agriculture, National Development University "Veteran" East Java. The research design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) using a single factor of citronella essential oil concentration, namely 0%, 1%, 2%, 3% and 4%. Observation variables include inhibition test, incubation period and disease severity. The research data was carried out using Analysis of Varience (ANOVA) and continued with a multiple comparison test using the BNJ advanced test at a significance level of 5% using SPPS version 21 software. The results of the inhibition research showed that the concentrations of 3% and 4% were 32.92% and 20.29%. has a high inhibitory power compared to the 1% and 2% treatments which have a weak inhibitory power of 21.29% and 24.27%. The results of the incubation period show that the 3% and % concentrations have the longest effect on the incubation period of Alternaria porri. Meanwhile, the disease severity results showed that concentrations of 3% and 4% had a percentage of moderately damaged disease severity of 42.41% and 44.08% compared to the 1% and 2% treatments which had a severely damaged disease severity of 59.35% and 57.73%.
