Abstract
Corn (Zea mays L.) is one of the main food crop commodities and has an important and strategic role in improving the Indonesian economy. Corn contributes to efforts to diversify food, increase food security, and reduce dependence on other food crops. Planthoppers are one of the pests that attack corn plants. The two corn planthoppers that have been identified in Indonesia are Peregrinus maidis and Srenocranus pacificus. This research aims to identify the types of corn planthoppers found on agricultural land in nine (nine) villages, located in three (three) sub-districts in Lamongan Regency. Sampling in this research used a random sampling method followed by a qualitative descriptive method. The results of the research showed that the corn planthoppers found and successfully identified were Stenocranus pacificus, Peregrinus maidis, Sogatella furcifera, Muellerianella laminalis, and Cicadulina bimaculata. The results of the PCR identification of the corn planthopper that is most commonly found in the field are Stenocranus pacificus. Keywords: Hemiptera, Corn, PCR, Stenocranus, Planthoppers.
