Abstract

The urban farming agricultural system is a plant cultivation system that has the potential to overcome the problem of decreasing agricultural land in Sidoarjo. Cultivation of red spinach plants in urban agriculture using the main things that must be considered is the planting medium and nutrition. The use of coconut water can be an alternative to replace ZPT on the market which is expensive and very unaffordable for agriculture. The research was carried out in June-August 2022 in Kalisampurno Village, Kec. Tanggulangin, Sidoarjo, East Java used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 2 treatment factors and repeated in 3 repetitions. The first factor is the composition of the plant media which consists of 7 levels of treatment and the second factor is natural nutritional watering. The results of the research were analyzed using the 5% BNJ test, showing that the planting media treatment of soil: cocopeat: charcoal husk with a volume ratio (2:1:1) was the most optimal result used for planting red spinach as proven by the indicators of plant height and wet weight of red spinach.
