Abstract
Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) is a type of horticultural plant that is generally planted widely in Indonesia. The Central Statistics Agency reports that tomato production in Batu City, East Java has decreased from 2020 to 2021. Tomato production in 2020 was 117,501 quintals and decreased in 2021 to 76,745 quintals. This research is planned to be carried out in Torongrejo Village, Junrejo, Batu City, from June to August 2023. The methods chosen are direct observation, net traps, yellow traps, and pitfall traps. This research was carried out in a tomato planting area that had been planted with refugia plants for 4 weeks. Observations were carried out eight times, at intervals of twice a week and starting in the generative phase, namely the age of the tomato plants from 6 WAP (Week After Planting) to 10 WAP. Observation parameters include the number of pests and natural enemies, identification of types, and diversity of pests and natural enemies found in tomato plantings with refugia planting. Data from observations were recorded and organized in tables using Microsoft Excel. Analysis of quantitative data on the diversity of pests and natural enemies was carried out by calculating the species diversity index (H'), species evenness index (E), and association index. A series of observations of insects on tomato plantations has been carried out 16 times and there are 11 genera consisting of 5 orders. The diversity index value of pests and natural enemies in refugia plots was 0.6435 higher than in plots without refugia. Meanwhile, the pest and natural enemy evenness index value was also shown to be higher in the refugia plots with a value of 0.2683. The calculated x value of the association index for each pest and natural enemy found in this study shows that there is no association between each pest and natural enemy. Keywords: pests, natural enemies, refugia, diversity index, association index
