Abstract

The Supreme Court issued Perma no. 2 of 2015 concerning Procedures for Settlement of Simple Claims which has been refined into Supreme Court Regulation Number 4 of 2019 by upholding the principles of simple, fast and low-cost justice. A simple lawsuit is a case that is resolved in no more than 25 days. At the Lamongan District Court several cases were found that did not comply with this. This research was conducted through empirical juridical methods using a statutory approach and a case approach. The results of this research show that some of the implementation of simple claims rules at the Lamongan District Court are in accordance and some are not in accordance with the rules, one of which is the settlement time of more than 25 days. The percentage rate of cases that take more than 25 days to complete is 45%. This is of course inseparable from the challenges faced by the Lamongan District Court in implementing simple claims. It is necessary to pay attention to the challenges that are the cause of the failure to implement simple claims at the Lamongan District Court to improve the implementation of small claims in the future in order to realize the principles of fast, simple and low-cost justice.
