Abstract

The rapid development of internet technology has influenced a paradigm shift in website development to provide the best user experience through responsive and high-performance websites. One crucial aspect of website performance measurement is page load speed. To enhance this performance, the use of web cache technology in Progressive Web Apps (PWA) has become a relevant choice. However, suboptimal cache management can weaken website performance. The aim of this research is to develop a sales recording application based on PWA for the Geprek Bang Jess business by implementing the FPRA (Fuzzy Page Replacement Algorithm) in its cache management and evaluating the application’s performance based on this implementation. The research findings indicate that the implementation of FPRA can increase the hit ratio from 54% to 62% compared to traditional algorithms like FIFO. The application of FPRA also improves application performance by accelerating page load time by 17% and increasing the performance score by 24 points based on Google Lighthouse test results, from an initial status of “poor” to “fair.” Thus, the use of FPRA in cache management for PWA applications can effectively enhance application performance.
