Abstract
Afghanistan is a country that has experienced political instability for decades. Since the United States invaded Afghanistan under the pretext of destroying terrorist organizations in Afghanistan, during that time the Afghan government has been formed by the United States. For 20 years the United States invaded Afghanistan, in 2021 the Afghan government was overthrown by the Taliban terrorism organization. The Taliban's victory prompted the United States to withdraw all its troops from Afghanistan, leaving the Afghan government to fall into the hands of the Taliban terrorism organization. Since the Taliban took over the Afghan government, insecurity and political instability have worsened. Due to the human security crisis that befell Afghan citizens, there has been a phenomenon of mass migration in search of shelter. The rise of the Taliban creates security challenges for Afghanistan from a political, economic and social perspective. Not only Afghanistan, other countries in the Central Asia region also experienced the impact. These countries are Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, thus forming a Regional Security Complex. This research uses explanatory research methods by collecting data using primary and secondary data originating from government reports, institutions and international organizations. This research will be analyzed using Barry Buzan's Regional Security Complex theory. Through this research, it was found that the complete security stability of Afghanistan triggered regional security instability in Central Asia. In this case, countries in the Central Asian region could become a refuge and operational center for potential terrorist networks for the Taliban. Therefore, the issue of terrorism in Afghanistan threatens regional security stability, thereby triggering the dynamics of the Regional Security Complex in Central Asia.
