Abstract
Percentage of household waste is the second largest contributor. The generation of organic waste can be overcome by making compost. This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of composting household organic waste using coconut husk bioactivators and used rice. Composting in this study used a household or small scale method, namely takakura. Composting using 7 composter baskets with different doses of adding bioactivators. Daily checks are carried out on the temperature, pH, color, texture, and smell of compost until the final visual check results are in accordance with SNI 19-7030-2004. At the end of composting, the content of the C/N ratio is seen, bacillus sp. and pseudomonas, as well as measurements of reduction rates in compost. The results showed that the presence of bacillus sp. In all but the variations, the bioactivator mix and the bacterium Pseudomonas was present in each variation. The C/N ratio with differences in the dose of used and mixed rice bioactivators has met the compost quality standards, while for variations in differences in coir bioactivators and control variations have not met SNI. Composting with the best or most effective biaocctivator difference is the C2 variation with the addition of a bioactivator mixture of coconut husk and used rice with a dose of 10ml obtained a C/N ratio of 15.18 and has the highest reduction rate of 63,80%.
