Abstract
Tjoekir Sugar Factory was founded by Nv. Kody En Coster Van Housf Tjoekir in 1884. The sugar production process at the Tjoekir Sugar Factory is divided into several process units including milling, refining, evaporation, cooking, turning and finishing stations. The aim of the processing process in the factory is to obtain the highest possible sugar production and reduce sap losses as little as possible during the process. Apart from that, in order to support the production process activities, the company has a utility unit which aims to provide materials, provide water, provide electricity and provide steam. In the sugar production process, the raw materials used by PG. Tjoekir can be divided into two types, namely main raw materials and supporting raw materials. The product produced is white crystal sugar. Product quality testing is carried out in laboratories and quality control is owned by a separate company, namely in the Quality Assurance laboratory. One of the parameters used to determine whether a sap's quality color is good or bad is the Nira Solution Color Analysis or ICUMSA (International Commission For Uniform Methods of Sugar Analysis). The ICUMSA number is used to see how clear the solution of sap produced is. The smaller the turbidity of the sap produced, the smaller the sap color solution produced. Thus, the quality of the sap produced will be better.
