Abstract
Urban farming is a agriculture in the city that involves skill, expertise, and innovation in the cultivation and processing. The purpose of this research is to finding out : 1) Identify the Implementation of the concept of urban farming in Surabaya city it covers a reason, constraints, exsternal and internal factor, 2) Analyze the development strategy urban farming that can be applied by the people of Surabaya city. Sample of this reaserch is society of Surabaya city who have an urban farming (south Surabaya). Method of determining the sample is purposive sampling, and the number os samples as much 43 farmer of urban farming with quitioner helper. Method of analysis used are SWOT analyze, and description quantitaty. The reaserch shows a reason or motivasion urban farming farmer in Surabaya among others is have a free time, untilizing a narrow, hobbies with farming, untilizing RTH, Increasing income, which’s increasing income is a factor dominan as much 31.58%, constraints among other is havnt experience in agriculture haven’t much of capital, plant disease, exstream weather and plant disease as dominan constraints factor as much 36.14%, internal and exsternal factor among is facilities and infrastructure is ready, not high cost, need management mind set about agriculture, quantity of product is a limited, have much consumers support from government,plant disease, competition products, etc. From the identification and analysis of development strategies urban farming so the development strategy that can be applied the city of Surabaya, among others is working together between urban agriculture to create a community or
