Abstract
Cocoa is a major contributor to Indonesia's economy, making it one of the world's largest cocoa producers, primarily exporting cocoa beans (HS: 180100). Malaysia is a key destination for Indonesian cocoa bean exports. However, the decline in Indonesia's cocoa production from 2008 to 2022 has led to a reduction in cocoa bean exports to Malaysia. This study aims to analyze the trends in Indonesian cocoa bean exports to Malaysia and identify factors influencing the demand using Vector Error Correction Models (VECM) analysis with Eviews 12 software. The research findings indicate a significant decline in the volume of Indonesian cocoa bean exports to Malaysia. Factors significantly influencing the demand for these exports include the exchange rate positively and international cocoa bean prices and inflation negatively. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has a non-significant negative impact on Indonesian cocoa bean exports to Malaysia.
