Abstract

The skin, as the outermost organ that protects the human body, is vulnerable to external factors such as UV rays, pollution and chemicals, which can negatively impact and worsen its appearance. Therefore, skin protection with the use of sunscreen is important. The diversity of sunscreen products and skin types sometimes makes it difficult for consumers to choose the appropriate product. To solve this problem, forward chaining and profile matching methods are applied to make it easier for users to recognize their skin type and find suitable sunscreen product recommendations. Forward chaining is used to trace the skin type of the face based on reasoning or tracking a data from the facts obtained to get a conclusion. Furthermore, the profile matching method is used to recommend sunscreen products that match user preferences, by selecting the best alternative from the existing criteria aspects. This research is expected to provide solutions for consumers in choosing the right sunscreen according to their skin type, minimizing skin problems that may arise, and increasing the comfort of using the product. From the research conducted, the accuracy test results of the forward chaining method were 100% and profile matching was 100%. So it can be concluded that this method works well and in accordance with experts. Translated with DeepL.com (free version).
