Abstract
ABSTRACT Audience Acceptance of the Childfree Concept in Gitasav Devi's Youtube Content This study aims to determine and examine audience acceptance of the childfree concept in Gitasav's Youtube content, namely "Chilfree: All Wrong in the Eyes of Warganet". The method used in this research is descriptive research by collecting data through interviews with audiences in Surabaya City, East Java, documentation and literature studies to be further analyzed qualitatively-descriptively. The phenomenon that occurs is the contradiction between the culture adopted by the audience and the childfree understanding initiated by Gitasav. The results showed that there are different understandings and views regarding Gitasav's youtube content regarding childfree which is examined from the views of Indonesians, representations of feminism, and foreign cultures, so that a conclusion is drawn that the informants' different perspectives on this topic are caused by differences in background between informants with one another. The results of this study also highlight the importance of understanding childfree and the results of the interview state that most informants do not approve of childfree, conditions in Indonesia also where views such as childfree are still taboo even though there has been a lot of dissemination of information from outside countries, especially western countries, and the nature of a woman is to give birth and have offspring in building a family.
