Abstract
ABSTRACT Indonesia as a country that has many islands certainly has many suitable tourism places to visit. One of them is Surabaya City. Surabaya City often as the City of Heroes certainly has many and varied tourism spots. One of them is the city park. City parks in Surabaya itself are scattered in every part of Surabaya. The advantages of Surabaya city parks in addition to presenting miniature nature are that they have a historical side, uniqueness, and the purpose of building the city park. However, the distribution of visitors is uneven and most visitors only visit popular city parks and do not know the diversity of other city parks. So, there is a need for promotional media that can solve the problem. This design is carried out through the interview and field observation stages, not to forget assisted by literature studies from journals, theses, books, and the internet. This is done so that the making of the book is right on target. The results of the analysis concluded that the diversity of city parks in Surabaya which has potential in the field of tourism has a shortage in terms of promotion. The right media for filling the shortage is a travel guidebook as a promotional media so that visitors and prospective visitors are facilitated in finding information with the help of attractive visuals from photography techniques and illustrations. The concept raised is of course about the characteristics of the city park and the city of Surabaya. The keyword obtained from the design concept search process is Creative and Educational Exploration of Surabaya City Park. From this keyword, we get the title "Wonderful Surabaya City Park" and a color concept consisting of green, blue, white, and brown. The concept of Photography is to capture the state of the park using medium longshot and landscape techniques. Illustration concept as a visual support using vector techniques and iconic characters from Surabaya namely a crocodile named "Cak Boy" and a shark named "Ning Yu" as a tour guide. The design of the City Park Travel Guidebook in Surabaya with Photo Graphics and Illustration Techniques is expected to increase interest and creative and educational insights about city parks that are scattered in the city of Surabaya.
