Abstract

Per capita expenditure is the basic that used to measure human standards living. One of necessary constituent to assess population welfare can be assessed through consumption pattern of goods and service. This research aims to analyze the Purchasing Power Parity, Human Development Index, and Population Growth Rate on the Average Per Capita Monthly Public Expenditure of Malang City in 2010-2021. The data used in this study is secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics of Malang City during the 2010-2021 time period. This research uses the Multiple Linear Regression Analysis using SPSS software. The results showed that (1) the Purchasing Power Parity had a positive and significant effect on the public’s per capita expenditure of the Malang City, it means that any increase in the purchasing power index could increase the public’s per capita expenditure. (2) The Human Development Index has a negative and insignificant effect on the public’s per capita expenditure of the Malang City, it means any increase of human development index unaffected by public’s per capita expenditure. (3) The population growth rate has a positive and insignificant effect on the public’s per capita expenditure of the Malang City, it means any increase of population growth rate unaffected by public’s per capita expenditure.
