Abstract
This study aims to determine law enforcement against perpetrators of hunting protected wildlife in the Bromo National Park area Tengger Semeru according to Law no. 5 of 1990 concerning Source Conservation Natural Resources and Ecosystems. In addition, this research was conducted to explore the elements of a criminal act that must be met by the perpetrators of hunting wildlife is protected so that it can be held accountable for a mistakes or actions that have been committed in the conservation area. The research method that the author uses is empirical juridical, namely: legal research by taking a direct approach to reality law in society. This approach is used to see legal aspects in social interaction in society, and functioning as a support to identify and clarify material findings temuan non-law for the purposes of research or legal writing. Result of research and interviews with the Civil Investigating Officer of the Balai Besar Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park mentions that not all perpetrators who commit the crime of poaching protected wildlife given criminal penalties under Article 40 of the Conservation Law, but some perpetrators of the crime of poaching protected wildlife are given guidance and make a stamped statement known to the family and village head In addition, local communities also return animals to their previous habitats. This punishment was carried out for reasons of pity and humanity this thing Of course it doesn't have a deterrent effect for the perpetrators other than the lack of personnel guarding the area and lack of public awareness as the cause xvi the main law enforcement against perpetrators of poaching protected wildlife in Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park is less than optimal.
