Abstract
ABSTRACT In 2018, visits to mental disorders in Bojoengoro Regency, according to District Health Profile data, had a population of 10,683 people. With the large number of mental disorder visits in Bojonegoro, mental health service facilities are still limited. One of the existing facilities is the Kalitidu mental health center, which is the first and only mental hospital in Bojonegoro. Established in 2010, this Community Health Center has 8 treatment rooms and 1 emergency room, which annually handles 3000 patients, from inpatient to outpatient. With the limitations at the Kalitidu Community Health Center, of course, there is a need for special mental hospital building facilities to accommodate consultation, rehabilitation, and treatment activities, as well as care for patients with mild to severe mental disorders in Bojonegoro and the surrounding districts. The aim of designing a mental hospital with a healing architecture concept in Bojonegoro Regency, apart from providing consultation, rehabilitation, treatment, and care activities, is, of course, to provide socialization about mental illness, which is still considered taboo in the Bojonegoro Regency area, with a building concept and environment that supports operations in the process of patient healing. The design concept used is healing architecture, which combines a healing environment approach. The application of the healing architecture design concept in mental rehabilitation center buildings is to design the interior and exterior spaces to create an atmosphere that can influence the psychology and physicality of patients in therapy. The result realized from this design is a mental hospital building that pays attention to the elements of interior and exterior space as well as an environment that supports the therapy and healing process for mental disorder patients with elements of healing architecture.
