Abstract
Students served multiple choices communications technology that latest , but they are still minimal knowledge for communicate use the internet .In indonesia , digital media literacy is mainly to competence technical use the internet .And based individual competence arranged european commisision ( 2009 ) for measuring the degree of media literacy someone ,at least three competence which should be filled, the technical skill , critical understanding, and communication skills and participate . This research aims to obtain picture of the level of digital media literacy UPN “Veteran” jawa timur students use the measurement of individual competences that had been developed and used european commission ( 2009) to study level media literacy at several countries in europe .This research uses the method the quantitative survey .Population in research this is a UPN “Veteran” jawa timur students. Samples from 100 respondents is the criteria which had been determined researchers . A conclusion that can be seen on the research is the level of digital media literacy UPN “Veteran” jawa timur students have been in the medium.A student quite good at using various, technological devices good technology tools hard and soft. technological devices. Understanding critical they are also very well against, internet content which is able to analyze and evaluate. content on the internet Efforts to college students to participate and communicate in using social media also have been run by some of them, even though the research shows that most choose not to participate.
