Abstract

Tofu dregs come from clumping and filtering. Tofu dregs are said to have a higher nutrient content than liquid waste. Based on initial analysis, tofu dregs have macro nutrient levels of 0.4% nitrogen, 0.16% P2O5, 0.53% potassium, which have the potential to increase soil fertility. This research aims to increase the nutrient content by optimizing the banana peel starter volume and fermentation time to obtain solid organic fertilizer that complies with SNI. The research method used was a Randomized Block Design, designed to determine the optimum conditions for the process of making solid organic fertilizer from tofu dregs using Response Surface Methodology. The process of making solid organic fertilizer from tofu dregs uses fermentation with the help of EM4 with variations in starter volume, namely: 25 ml; 35 ml; 45 ml; 50 ml; and 55 ml and fermentation time 3 days; 5 days; 7 days; 9 days; and 11 days. Tests were carried out to determine the effect of starter volume and fermentation time on solid organic fertilizer of tofu dregs. The maximum response value was obtained at varying starter volumes of 55 ml and fermentation time of 11 days with nitrogen levels of 1.08%, P2O5 1.214% and potassium 2.115%. The verification results of the predicted optimum response showed nitrogen levels of 2.02505%, P2O5 2.11075% and potassium 3.22723%.
