Abstract
Wonosalam sub-district is a productive land for wetland (paddy rice) and dryland (secondary crops and plantations) food crop cultivation that has been intensively cultivated for generations. The varied land use in Wonosalam allows a decrease in soil fertility. Soil fertility is not only influenced by soil properties, but also by slope. The decline in soil fertility in Wonosalam sub-district requires an evaluation of soil fertility status to provide appropriate land improvement recommendation efforts. This research aims to assess and monitor soil fertility in Wonosalam Subdistrict in order to find out which nutrients are limiting factors or constraints for a land. This research was conducted using the survey method at the time of sampling points and the soil test method. The soil chemical properties determined were Cation Exchange Capacity and Base Saturation, total P and total K, C-Organic. The results of the data obtained were then analyzed using matching and descriptive methods to determine soil fertility status and factors limiting soil fertility status. The results showed that in Wonosalam Subdistrict almost all land units have low fertility status criteria except for land units HK1 and TK1 which have medium fertility status criteria. The limiting factors of soil fertility status in Wonosalam Subdistrict are KB, C-Organic and K2O5 with land improvement efforts of dolomite lime, manure and K fertilizer
