Abstract

Moringa (Moringa oleifera L.) is a plant that is cultivated as one of the sources of vegetable oil, known as moringa oil, is obtained from extract the seeds. Based on previous research, the maceration method was used for obtain Moringa oil and need to use other methods besides using the method Maceration to increase the oil obtained is by using a tank stirred. So it is hoped that the yield obtained will be more compared to using the maceration method. Therefore, researchers tried to do research entitled "Optimization of Moringa Seed Oil Extraction Using Tanks Stirring. This research aims to find the highest levels of seed oil Moringa is extracted using a stirred tank using hexane and solvents looking for optimization of the extraction process in a stirred tank using CAMP number. It is hoped that this research will be useful in finding out Alternative processing of Moringa seeds into a product that is more economical and can increase knowledge for the public about the usefulness and economic value of oil processing Moringa seeds. The research method we use in this process is extraction using a stirred tank with N-hexane solvent. The extraction process is purposeful to separate the oil from Moringa seeds to obtain oil with Add N-hexane solvent. Comparison of the number of Moringa seeds and N-hexane solvent in each sample as much as 1:8. Where the amount of Moringa seeds is 50 grams and the solvent is N-hexane 400 ml. for the variable that is run in the form of stirring speed (rpm) of 300, 350, 400, 450, and 500. And the stirring time (minutes) is 50, 70, 90, 110, and 130. The extraction results are then filtered to separate the moringa seed dregs from the filtrate. Then the filtrate is subjected to a distillation process to separate the solvent pure Moringa oil to calculate the yield and calculate the optimization numbers CAMP. Then analyze pure Moringa oil from the results of numerical optimization CAMP. There are influences in this research that are interconnected, namely speed stirring and extraction time that can be applied in CAMP numbers so that optimal results can be obtained. The optimum CAMP number ranges from 14.61 x 106 to 15.75 x 106 with yield obtained at 36.92%.
