Abstract

Degradation of turbidity and Total Suspended Solid (TSS) has been reasearched. The purpose of this research is to compare between Rapid Sand Filter Single Media and Dual Media to degredate turbidity and Total Suspended Solid (TSS) in Kali Jagir Wonokromo. Silica and Zeolite is used to be filter media with effective size of 0,20 mm and 1,40 mm. The research implemented 4 types of variation that are silica with depth of 60 cm, silica with depth of 80 cm, silica and zeolite with depth of 60 cm and silica and zeolite with depth of 80 cm. Results showed that 4 types of variation can reduced turbidity and Total Suspended Solid (TSS) up to 50%. The best removal of the variation is silica with depth of 80 cm followrd by silica and zeolite with depth of 80 cm. The average of silica with depth of 80 cm are 92,22% for turbidity and 91,43% for TSS and the average of silica and zeolite with depth of 80 cm are 87,77% for turbidity and 85,71% for TSS. The results showed that the smaller the media size and the deeper the thickness makes turbidity and TSS reduce betterly.
