Abstract
This study aims to determine the understanding and application of basic accounting system in UMKM in West Surabaya. The object of this research is UMKM devia_rumahoptik2 using qualitative methods with a descriptive approach so that the researchers of course go directly to the field to carry out observations, interviews and documentation. From the analysis of research results, it shows that devia_rumahoptik UMKM have an understanding of the basic accounting system, even though devia_rumahoptik2 implements the basic accounting system manually by writing in books.
