Abstract

CV. Maxindo is a manufacturing company that produces clothing. CV. Maxindo manufactures various types of clothing such as shirts, jackets, pants, and accessories. CV. Maxindo has a trademark named "Lee Conti," which is usually marketed at Ramayana, Matahari, and several other clothing stores. Waste analysis in the warehouse process at CV. Maxindo revealed that the highest type of waste is waiting, with an average weighting score of 4.4, followed by excess inventories with an average weighting score of 4, and transportation with an average weighting score of 3.6. Improvement recommendations proposed the use of 5S. "Seiri" (sorting), a massive cleanup was conducted, stratification management was implemented, red labeling was applied, defective items and damaged products were sorted, and unnecessary items were discarded. "Seiso" (sweeping/cleaning) involved overall warehouse cleaning and micro-level cleaning of warehouse items. "Seiton" (systematic arrangement) included classifying the frequency of item usage, determining storage locations for items, and labeling items. "Seiketsu" (standardization) entailed creating standardized warehouse areas and conducting daily checks to ensure the previous 3S (seiri, seiso, seiton) were functioning properly. The last is "shitsuke" (sustaining) encompassed creating visual displays, developing a 5S checklist, and providing 5S implementation training. There was a reduction of warehouse lead time by 642 seconds or 11 minutes from the current big picture mapping lead time of 9,520 seconds or 159 minutes to 8,878 seconds or 148 minutes in the future big picture mapping.
