Abstract
Indonesia is one of the countries with adherents of Islam largest in the world. This underlies the high number of pilgrims in Indonesia from year to year. Jember Regency also contributed to the number of pilgrims who quite a lot in East Java. In 2017 Jember Regency occupied third position with the highest number of pilgrims in East Java after Surabaya and Sidoarjo. Apart from the population of Jember Regency itself, the number of pilgrims this also comes from the surrounding area. The presence of this Hajj hostel as a forum for to prepare for the departure of the Jember sub embarkation pilgrims who have Islamic nuances display and supporting facilities. To display an Islamic atmosphere in the building, the Hajj hostel is designed using the Islamic Architecture approach. Expected by election With this approach, the Hajj hostel can have a religious atmosphere with Islamic character so that pilgrims can be ready physically and mentally to perform worship hajj. The theme used in this design is Spirit of Islam, namely showing Islamic nuances in buildings with an Islamic architectural approach pendekatan so that there will be a religious atmosphere in the Hajj hostel which can increase devotion to worship. Combined metaphorical method, with tangible aspects Islamic geometry and the value of Islamic architecture as intangible aspects, are used so that desired results can be achieved. The tangible aspect used is the star angle of eight is used as the basic form of the building. Angle star shape eight are also applied to the roof and ornaments. The value of Islamic architecture that refers to the Quran as an intangible aspect applied to the display building so that a combination can be achieved.
