Abstract
Indonesia is a unitary state that has various difference. These differences include language, food, and traditional clothing. Differences are also found in the sense of culture, one of which is Blitar which has various types of cultural arts. Blitar is a city/regency located in East Java Province with a population of about 2.5 million people. However, along With the development of the times, the culture is starting to be abandoned, even forgotten once. This happens due to various factors, including the mushrooming of various foreign culture in society that is more desirable and even occupied, while culture itself is not developed and is even forgotten, and the lack of knowledge of the culture. These factors are threatening the displacement of the existing Blitar culture This problem will be solved by providing a container to introduce the art and culture of Blitar in this modern era. Of course, in providing the container, it is necessary to take the following steps: can be a solution to the problem of art and culture and the conditions of the selected location. Of course, this forum will make it easier for the community to develop art activities as well as introducing Blitar culture with modern concepts, but does not eliminate the traditional style. With that concept It is hoped that the interest of all levels of Blitar society as well as from tourists Those who come will be more interested in getting to know the arts and culture in Blitar. The design of the Cultural Arts Center in Blitar carries the theme of extending tradition. Extending tradition, which combines physical form and values that are found in vernacular architecture with a modern balance. With carried the theme will solve the existing problems. Then analysis of objects and concepts that are mature in the design. So that the desired and needed design solutions can be obtained.
