Abstract
Capital market investors in Indonesia continue to show an increase every year with the majority of investors coming from the younger age group. However, investment also causes losses for some investors due to irrational actions taken in making investment decisions. This can occur due to the influence of psychological factors known as biased behavior. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of illusion of control, financial literacy and herding bias on investment decision making of young investors in Surabaya. The population in this study were capital market investors who live in Surabaya. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling technique with the results of the sample calculation obtained a total of 95 respondents. This study uses quantitative methods with data collection techniques using questionnaires distributed to young investor respondents in Surabaya City. The results of this study indicate that there is a positive effect on financial literacy on investment decisions in young investors in Surabaya, while the illusion of control and herding bias variables have no effect on investment decisions in young investors in Surabaya.
