Abstract
Rice has a very important role in the life of Indonesian society as its main food ingredient. Storage of rice for too long results in damage to rice caused by rice fleas. Rice lice infestation can cause rice to lose weight up to 23% after several months of storage. Until now, rice lice control is still using pesticides by means of fumigation. The pesticide that is often used is Phostoxin 56 TB. So it is necessary to have vegetable pesticides that are safe for human health. This study aims to determine the effect of Alang-alang rhizome powder on rice lice pests and determine the correct dosage for pest control. This research was conducted from September 1, 2019 to October 31, 2019. The research site was the Plant Health Laboratory of UPN Veteran East Java. This study used a single factor treatment design compiled in a completely randomized design (CRD). The treatments tested were 5 treatments of alang-alang rhizome powder with 5 repetitions and 3 samples each. This test uses destructive sampling with 3 observations, namely on days 10, 35, and 45 days after infestation. Pesticide treatment is using alang-alang powder at a dose of 5g / 50g rice, 10g / 50g rice, 15g / 50g rice, 20g / 50g rice, and 25g / 50g rice. Overall data obtained in the field were analyzed statistically using the method of analysis of variance (ANOVA) and further tested by BNT at the real level of 5% and the regression test using the Microsoft Excel 2016 application. red is able to suppress the population of Sitophilus oryzae imago and is able to reduce damage to rice grains. Based on the results of the research conducted, it was found that the dose of 15 grams / 50 grams of brown rice was able to suppress the population of Sitophilus oryzae imago and was able to reduce damage to rice grains. Lethal Dose to the imago population on days 10, 35, and 45 after infestation were 10.35 grams, 7.32 grams, and 4.7 grams / 50 grams of brown rice. The greater the dose applied, the higher the mortality percentage of rice lice. The larger the dose applied, the smaller the percentage of damage to brown rice grains. Keywords: Sitophilus oryzae, Imperata cylindrica, Warehouse Pests, Rice
