Abstract

This research aims to determine the appropriate concentration and application time of paclobutrazol to increase the size of black potato tubers, so the crop production obtained can increase. This research was conducted in December 2022 – March 2023 at Rejoso Pinggir Village, Tembelang, Jombang Regency. The method used in this research was a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD), which consisted of two factors and was repeated three times. The first factor is the concentration of paclobutrazol (K), consisting of five levels: 250 ppm (K1); 500 ppm (K2); 750 ppm (K3); 1000 ppm (K4); 1250 ppm (K5) and the second factor is time application of paclobutrazol (W), consists of three times: 20, 30, 40 HST (W1); 35, 45, 55 HST (W2); 50, 60, 70 HST (W3). The control treatment were not included in the ANOVA calculations. The results showed that there was an interaction between the parameters of plant length, stem diameter, number of tubers per plant, and weight of tubers per tuber. A single treatment with a paclobutrazol concentration of 1000 ppm and a single treatment with paclobutrazol application times of 50, 60, 70 HST gave the best effect of paclobutrazol on the parameters of number of tubers per plant and weight of tubers per tuber. The research results also showed that there were morphological differences between control plants and paclobutrazol plants. Keywords : Black Potato, Paclobutrazol, Concentration, Time Application
