Abstract
This research aims to find out what criminal responsibility there is for perpetrators of animal abuse that is spread on social media, which is a case that is being widely discussed at the moment. The abuse carried out by the perpetrator not only abused animals but was also recorded and then distributed to the public via social media by the perpetrator, causing fear and unrest in the community. This research uses normative juridical research. This research was conducted to analyze the criminal responsibility imposed on perpetrators of criminal acts of animal abuse that are spread on social media by adapting existing theories of criminal responsibility. The results of the research show that the criminal liability of perpetrators of abuse spread on social media has fulfilled the existing elements of criminal liability and has also fulfilled the elements of the existing legal provisions.
