Abstract
ABSTRACT The United States deployed troops in Afghanistan in 2001 due to the terrorist attacks in the US that destroyed the twin towers. Then in 2021 president Biden decided to withdraw troops from Afghanistan after 20 years of conflict. The plan to withdraw US troops has been planned for a long time, but the withdrawal of troops can be realized during the leadership of president Biden. the withdrawal of troops carried out by president Biden is an interesting thing, because the previous presidential era preferred to defend Afghanistan rather than leave it. The author will analyze the factors that influence the withdrawal of troops by President Biden using the theory of "Windows of Opportunity" by Joakim Eidenfalk. The author uses a qualitative method and uses secondary data to collect existing data. then explains the existing data using the explanatory method to explain what happened.
