Abstract

Soybeans (Glycine max L.) is a food crop as well as a legume type commodity that has many benefits because it has a high protein content. This plant has various superior varieties, one of which is the Anjasmoro variety. Varieties with several advantages both in terms of quality and quantity produced. However, this does not affect soybean production in Indonesia, which tends to decrease due to the less than optimal development of flowering plants. The purpose of this study was to determine the best concentration and time of application of paclobutrazol in increasing growth and accelerating flowering of the Anjasmoro soybean variety. This research was conducted from March to April 2023 in the land in UPT Paddy and Palawija Seed Development Singosari, Malang, East Java. This study used a completely randomized design (RAL) which consisted of 2 factors, namely paclobutrazol ZPT concentration with 4 levels and paclobutrazol application time with 3 time sessions. The results showed that paclobutrazol could inhibit plant height (23.04 cm) and number of leaves (7.13 leaves) and had a very significant effect on the rate of flowering at the time of application before flowering. Whereas at a concentration of 100 ppm it did not inhibit vegetative growth but accelerated flowering (33 HST). The best application of paclobutrazol on soybean plants is at a concentration of 100 ppm and at the time of application before flowering.
