Abstract
llegal racing is an action that is liked by teenagers in the Tuban Regency, East Java. Where the action violates the values and norms that apply in the social environment. This is of course caused by the association of teenagers and the selection of friends made by the teenagers themselves. In addition to this, the impact that is given from the application of parents' communication patterns to their children is very relevant when it is related to the daily life and activities of children when they are in a social environment. In this context, it made researchers want to know more about how communication patterns from parents are applied to their children in the selection of friends from the wild racing community in Tuban Regency, East Java. The research approach used in this case is a qualitative descriptive approach. Researchers use in-depth interviews or In-dept-interviews with the aim of finding answers to related problems. In this study, researchers found that there were four communication patterns that parents applied to their children every day, including permissive communication patterns, authoritarian communication patterns, democratic communication patterns and neglectful communication patterns. However, related to the choice of friends, researchers found that permissive (liberating) communication patterns have a significant impact on the selection of wild racing community friends. This is also based on how the role of parents when implementing daily communication with their children, including in this context, there are no rules that apply to children regarding the choice of friends. So that makes children able to respond by feeling that they are free to do anything when they are in a social environment, such as wild racing. Keywords: Parental Communication Patterns, Selection of Friends, Wild Racing
