Abstract

Vehicle exhaust CO and CO2 emissions can increase global warming and cause health problems. Emissions are formed from combustion originating from vehicles. The amount of emissions produced is influenced by several characteristics, for example the year of manufacture of the vehicle, the engine capacity of the vehicle, vehicle maintenance and fuel consumption. This research was conducted in the Arjosari Teminal where is a crowded place with public transportation activities, which aims to identify vehicles, test vehicle emissions using emission test equipment (Gas and Smoke Autocheck), calculate and analyze CO and CO2 emission loads when a vehicle is moving and when idle time and find the correlation between vehicle characteristics and CO and CO2 emissions produced. Emission calculations use the IPCC and Taylor equations. Emission load from the test equipment results for the highest CO by angkot is 2.48%, and for CO2 by taxi is 13.92%, but all emissions produced are still below the quality standard and between CO and CO2 emission loads are inversely proportional. Vehicle characteristics have a near perfect correlation with the resulting emission load. Keyword : Air pollution, Public transportation, CO and CO2 emissions, Emissions when vehicle in idle time, Emissions when vehicle is moving
