Abstract
Waru District is one of the regions in Sidoarjo Regency. Changes in land use in Waru District, especially the increase of residential areas causing the absence of rainwater catchment areas so that causing a puddle of water at several points due to high rainfall. The application of conventional drainage system that have the principle of draining water as quickly as possible to water bodies is not effective because it can be reduces the chance of water absorbing into the ground. Therefore it is necessary to evaluate the dimensions of the existing drainage channels in several areas of Waru District to determine the rainwater debit that can be accommodated. Technical and program analysis was carried out in this research. Technical analysis by evaluating the existing drainage channels shows that secondary and tertiary canals in Waru District are unable to accommodate planned debit. Calculation of high of the plan rain with a return period of 5 years using the Gumble method and calculation of the planned debit using the rasioanl method. Whereas programmatic analysis uses the HEC-RAS 5.0.7 software which can be simulate high above the water line. Result of the analysis and evaluation, it is known that the causes of flooding in several areas in Waru District there are some inadequate channel of dimensions sufficient to accommodate less run off water. There are 23 channels flooded from 52 channels analyzed. There are 7 channels that flooded in the upstream and downstream and there are 16 channels that only flooded in the downstream. Countermeasures of flooding in Waru District can be done by normalizing the channel to puddle of large and high water by improving the cross section of channel that cannot accommodate less run off water. Keywords: Drainage, Rainfall, Debit, Waru District, HEC-RAS 5.0.7.
