Abstract

Gender is the difference in roles between women and men. Women are often discriminated against in various fields of development, this is due to differences in roles and perspectives in society, where women often consider women weak and more suitable for domestic work. The resulting discrimination makes the inequality of women and men different from one region to another, therefore research related to this case is needed. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of welfare level indicators on the Gender Development Index (IPG). Observations on 5 regencies/cities of the Special Region of Yogyakarta from 2012 to 2021. The data used is secondary data obtained from BPS Yogyakarta Province. The panel data regression analysis method uses the Random Effect Model method as the best model. Life Expectancy Variable (AHH) as an indicator of the health sector, Average Length of Schooling (RLS) as an indicator of education, Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) as an indicator of employment. Based on this study, it is known that the AHH variable has a negative and insignificant effect on IPG. Meanwhile, the RLS variable has a positive and significant effect on IPG and the TPAK variable has a negative and significant effect on IPG in DIY Province.
