Abstract

The Opak Hulu-Central sub-watershed is in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) which has quite rapid population growth and is concentrated in Sleman Regency with a percentage of 30.69% (BPS DIY, 2021). This can have an impact on changes in land use which can result in higher erosion, especially during the rainy season. This research aims to (1) examine the main factors of erosion and (2) examine the Erosion Hazard Index for the upper-middle Opak Sub-watershed so that it can be used as an appropriate conservation guide. This research uses an exploratory descriptive method and data analysis is carried out using Arcgis 10.8 software and IBM SPSS Statistics 25. The research results show that actual erosion in the upper-middle Opak sub-watershed ranges from 1.70 to 121.64 t/ha/year with 3 TBE classifications, namely class I , II, and III with erosion factors that correlate with the amount of erosion. Apart from that, the upper-central Opak sub-watershed has an erosion hazard index of 0.09 to 4.23, which is classified as low to high.
