Abstract

Poverty is one of the development problems that exist in various countries, including Indonesia. There are several factors that can cause poverty to become more widespread and unending. These factors include individuals, families, or even communities, such as low levels of education and income levels below the poverty line. This research aims to find out what factors can affect poverty either directly or indirectly, such as HDI, economic growth and unemployment. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with multiple linear regression models and an analytical tool in the form of path analysis through the Eviews 12 program. This study used 15 samples starting from 2007 – 2021 with data sourced from the website of the Central Bureau of Statistics for the City of Kediri and East Java. The results of this study found that economic growth and HDI do not have a direct effect on poverty. For indirect effects, only HDI has an indirect effect on poverty through unemployment, while economic growth has no indirect effect on poverty in Kediri City through unemployment. Keywords : Poverty, HDI, Economic Growth, Unemployment
