Abstract

PT. PAL Indonesia is the largest shipyard industry in Indonesia. The problem that occurs is the lack of optimal inventory control system, resulting in swelling of inventory costs and warehouse overcapacity. This study aims to determine the optimal amount of raw material inventory to minimize total inventory costs and storage space. The method used is multiplier lagrange. Based on the results of the study, the multiplier lagrange method obtained a total new storage space of 507 m2. This value shows the optimal state because the order does not exceed the storage capacity of PT. PAL Indonesia is 510 m2 with the number of orders for each type of plate as follows 8 mm 27 tons of plates, 9 mm plate from 28 tons, 11 mm plate from 35 tons, and multiplier lagrange proposal method can minimize the total inventory cost of Rp. 387,180,637.
