Abstract

Erosion can be used as an indicator of gaps in land use in an area. The research was conducted in the upstream Opak sub-watershed with land use unit boundaries. There are 5 units of land use, namely forests, mixed gardens, fields, settlements, and rice fields. The existence of these various land uses triggers differences in actual erosion rates determined by the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) method. Data analysis described using correlation and regression analysis using IBM SPSS Statistics 25 and Microsoft Excel 2016 software. This study aims to determine the actual erosion that occurs and to analyze the factors that influence the occurrence of actual erosion and simulated erosion that occurs in the upstream Opak sub-watershed. The results show that the upstream Opak sub-watershed has varying degrees of erosion hazard, ranging from very light to very severe. The factors that have the most influence on actual erosion are crop management and conservation measures, while the factors that have the most influence on simulated erosion are the area and type of land use.
