Abstract

Indonesia's economic situation is inseparable from the availability of food raw materials, such as rice as a basic need. Government intervention on the volume of rice imports in Indonesia is very important, to meet the food needs of the people. Therefore the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the amount of rice production, exchange rate and population on the volume of rice imports in Indonesia. Data sources were obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics and its official website and other supporting websites. The data used are the total production of Indonesian rice, the total population of Indonesia, the rupiah exchange rate against the United States dollar and the volume of Indonesian rice imports. and processed using SPSS software. Based on the results of the analysis described in the previous chapter, the following conclusions can be drawn: After testing for the simultaneous effect of the independent variables Knowing the Amount of Rice Production, Total Population and Exchange Rate have a simultaneous and significant effect on the Volume of Rice Imports. Based on partial calculations, it is found that the amount of rice production has no effect on the volume of rice imports, while the total population has a positive and significant effect on the volume of rice imports, and the exchange rate variable has a negative and significant effect on the volume of rice imports.. Keywords : exchange, population, production, rice imports
