Abstract

This study aims to look at potential sectors that have great capabilities in driving rapid economic growth in the City of Kediri. The data used in the calculation analysis of this study is secondary data for the 2015-2021 period obtained from the annual reports of the Kediri City Government, the Kediri City BPS and the East Java Province BPS. This study uses several analytical methods, including: (1) Location Quotient; (2) Shift Share PS, PR, DS; (3) Tipologi Klasen; and (4) Simple Linear Regression using Eviews 12. Based on the results of the LQ calculation, it shows that the City of Kediri has 1 sector that is superior in supporting its economic growth. While the sector with the ability to absorb high labor comes from 7 sectors. Based on the results of the Tipologi Klasen calculations, it shows that Kediri City is included in quadrant 3 with the category of developed but depressed areas. Then, based on the results of simple linear regression, it shows that partially the leading sector has a significant influence in relation to employment in the City of Kediri. However, partially the non-leading sector does not have a significant influence in relation to employment in the City of Kediri.
